Unspoken expectations of a Model

Whether you have been signed by a agency or not, there are some unspoken expectations of a model. To know them and practice them are very important to your career.

That being said, you must look like your pictures on your composite card. That means hairstyle, weight, age, etc. You cannot change or alter your look. Say for instance you want to try a new hair color or length, opt for a wig. You don't want to alter your appearance. You want to look exactly how you look on your modeling card. Clients are booking and paying you for that.

It is also known that you are to show up to go sees and gigs with simple short or medium length nails; painted in a neutral pink color, no fake nails. Show up with very minimal makeup on and a little lip gloss. Hair can be worn natural, or in a slicked bun or ponytail.

Wear fitted black jeans and a fitted shirt. You should be maintaining your weight and muscle tone. Gaining a few pounds is one thing, gaining five or ten pounds gives you entirely a different look that you might not notice but the client will.

These are a few pointers to give some guidance in a field that is incredibly competitive, so you can be on the up and up.
