Individuality is a rare quality that cannot be duplicated. It is the core and essence of who a person really is. It is something that sets them apart from the crowd, a certain spark or glimmer in the eyes. It is important to already be confident and grounded person; having a good sense of who you are, before embarking on this journey. And, since the modeling industry is extremely competitive, you have to be tough, as to not take anything personal. You will experience rejection, and you have to bounce back from that. Those that endure to the end, will come out on top. Familiarize yourself with the industry, so you can see how to approach auditions, go sees, and even work emails. Always have integrity and give it your best.
So, now lets discuss some examples of uniqueness and individuality in modeling. Studying the OG Supermodels will help to understand that. We all know Naomi Campbell for her strong runway walk like no other. Who can forget Kate Moss, the way she models with her eyes as a focal point. Then, Cindy Crawford keeps it classy, elegant, and approachable. I find Cindy to be one of those rare super models that you wouldn't be afraid to approach. And, Iman is strikingly gorgeous and presents herself like a Queen.
Current Supermodels like Bella and Gigi Hadid are sisters, but have their own je ne sais quoi. Then, there is Ashley Graham, who has broke the mold of industry standards. Her wholesome, classy, and joyful appeal will stand the test of time.
So, take a quality about yourself that makes you shine and stand out from the rest in your modeling career. And, keep learning.
